Another bitter pill

I am one of the millions , belonging to the suffering class who are moaning over the decision made by one of the opportunistic , savvy politician who has played the dice to hit the jackpot when his retirement was being designed. ARJUN SINGH , stunned the whole of india especially his own party members, by bringing the law for increasing the SC/ST OBC quota in all the govt. institutions to 50%. The argument given is that they are following the constitution . I know i would be repeating the same old reasons for not endorsing this quota gimmick, but i feel we as educated persons need to weigh the situation not driven by the emotions but with rationality.
I feel it is our duty to propagate the right approach with whatever medium possible and i intend to do just that.
First the quotas has always been the famous ploy to lure the ST's to become the vote banks of those unethical politicians. What they need to realize is that ultimately it would be the backward people themselves who will be the sufferer even if the quota law passes . They can just gain the entrance to the premeir institutions but their goal is to provide a decent carreer out of the education which would land them to the competitive private industry where the survival is not based on your cast , creed or religion but solely on performance and if they don't have it in them they won't be able to survive. The same holds true for all the genral category people. So the idea is that govt. can't bring quota in the jobs (i suspect even thatis also waiting to be rolled out) but even if that comes out they non performers would always be the liabilities to the employer.
Instead they should boost the primary level education in the backward areas. I have seen my kaamwaali bai sending her children to school. So point is that to promote education not creating the shortcuts because i believe there aren't any. There have been sufficient successes but a lot still left to be done. and we should not let such mean politicians to hinder our progress as a nation. I sincerely want to ask everybody please give your 2 cents against this law. Ultimately there are no profiteers but OUR RESPECTED ARJUN SINGH ( you ****************)

Exactly my point as well ...
even I feel the Govt should try to strengthen the Education Standards at School level ... giving socially and economically backward people an actual chance to carve a bright future for themselves !
If reservations and Quotas are the Buzzword , give reservations in Big Public n Private schools .. ( Like the Convent schools do .. But that is limited to economically backward christians ..) Give the people a genuine opportunity to Grow n Succeed in this highly competitive man eat man world .....
